This summer, conservation scientist and ARTC Associate Professor Dr. Jocelyn Alcántara-García spoke with graduate student and journalist Madison Goldberg about conservation science. Madison is a graduate student in the Science, Health, and Environmental Reporting Program at New York University; this program trains science journalists, one of the potential career paths as an ARTC major. The interview was to craft an article for Scienceline, part of the special issue “Scienceline KIDS: When Art Meets Science.” Madison interviewed conservators and conservation scientists, and you can read her article beginning on p.13 of the publication. “Telling Art’s Hidden Stories” will show you why Alcántara-García expressed that some techniques in conservation science “sound like science fiction.” We highly recommend you read the full publication, to learn more about the multiple ways art meets science!
