The public has opportunies for a behind the scenes look into the conservation labs at Winterthur. Since 2001, a subset of Winterthur’s guiding staff has been trained to give public tours through the conservation facility on the first Wednesday of each month. Call 800.448.3883
For pre-program applicants, tours of the conservation laboratories at Winterthur are available to potential applicants throughout the academic year. The final tour of the 2011-2012 academic year will be held on Monday, May 21 at 1:00pm. Pre-program students wishing to tour the laboratories on this date should contact WUDPAC Fellow Carrie McNeal at .
Pre-program tours for the 2012-2013 academic year will be held every third Monday at 10:00am. Tour dates for 2012-2013 will be: September 17, October 15, November 19, December 17, January 21, February 18, March 18, April 15, and May 20. Members of the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation hosted this popular annual event at the Winterthur Museum on October 13. Nearly one hundred prospective applicants and family members from across the United States took advantage of this unique opportunity to view successful application portfolios and speak with current WUDPAC Fellows about their experiences in the program.
