Connecting to Collections: The National Conservation Summit
June 27-28 2007 the Institute for Museum and Library Services hosted the groundbreaking Connecting to Collections: The National Conservation Summit for museum and library professionals from every state. 350 archivists and librarians participated in the summit. The goal of this meeting was to make preserving our national heritage a priority and provide information and skills necessary for preserving cultural property to custodians of medium and small size institutions throughout the country. Two of our faculty members lent their expertise to the cause and spoke at the summit. Debra Hess Norris presented, Help! Fund Raising for Collections Care: Strategies for Success, a talk about fundraising for preservation projects and Joyce Hill Stoner talked about current efforts of public outreach in the conservation field.
