Application Process

Applications must be made through the Graduate Studies Office at the University of Delaware using their online application. All application materials listed below—excepting GRE scores—must be uploaded electronically through this online platform.

Autobiographical Statement: A brief autobiography that indicates suitability for the field of conservation, learning process to date, appreciation of art and cultural heritage, and the importance of its preservation. (Your response to this question may also be used on the online application).

Letters of Recommendation: Applicants must submit 3 letters of recommendation stating the applicant's ability to successfully complete and profit from a graduate program in art conservation. At least one of these letters should be from a practicing professional conservator who has supervised the applicant's conservation work.

GRE Scores: An official copy of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores must be submitted. The University of Delaware’s GRE Code is 005811-5101.  The ETS University of Delaware institution code is "5811". You only need to submit the University code of 5811. No department code is needed for our institution.

Transcripts: Transcripts from all post-high school academic institutions must be uploaded to the online application. Unofficial transcripts or scans of official transcripts may be used. Do not mail official transcripts to the University of Delaware during the applicant stage.
