Biennial Intern for the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY

The Whitney Museum of American Art is looking for an intern to assist on the 2010 Biennial. This internship offers valuable experience working on an exciting exhibition with exposure to living artists. It is also an exciting opportunity to learn the process of organizing and installation of an exhibition.

The intern will be working with both Curatorial and Exhibitions and Collections Management departments at the Whitney. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: administrative duties (including filing, liaising with galleries/artists/museum employees), research, and general office assistance.

Internship candidates must have a strong interest in contemporary art as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail. An ability to work independently and efficiently under time pressure are important qualities in a candidate, as well as ability to multi-task, take initiative and problem solve.

Internship candidates should be willing to commit to a minimum of 3 full days a week for three months beginning in December.
