enriching internship opportunity to work with the Collections,
Affiliates, Research and Exhibits Team (CARE Team). The CARE Team is
responsible for the stewardship and care of the State’s collections
which consist of material cultural objects, fine art, textiles,
photographs and archival materials that document the history and
heritage of Delaware. The CARE Team also designs educational exhibitions
for researchers, visitors, museums and other historical and educational
institutions.</p><p>Â Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Ability to conduct research</li><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Can work independently and in group projects</li><li>Knowledgeable in basic computer skills</li><li>Able to learn how to operate digital equipment (scanners and cameras)</li></ul><p>Â </p><p>Activities and Responsibilities: Interns and volunteers interest in
researching and learning how to preserve historical objects will receive
hands-on experience in collections management and object preservation.
They will also have an opportunity to assist with the design and
installation of exhibitions. Interns and volunteers may be tasked with
the following duties:</p><ul><li>Research and write brief object descriptions to create digital records</li><li>Photograph, number and measure objects</li><li>Create blog entries for collections objects</li><li>Assist with online exhibitions</li><li>Assist with the rehousing and re-shelving of objects</li></ul><p>Â </p><p>Other Requirements: Must be at least 17 years of age. DHCA offers
unpaid internships annually to work with the CARE Team located in Dover,
DE and interns are required to work a minimum of 12hrs a week and to
complete the collection management training orientation. Interns will
also have to complete the DHCA Volunteer/Internship application and
orientation</p><p>Supervision: Volunteers will report to the on-site supervisor, Mari
Carpenter, and to the Volunteer Services Coordinator, Bridget Wallace.</p><p>Working Conditions: This volunteer opportunity may require periods of
time standing. Some work may require the use of a computer system.
The majority of this work is indoors, and all curatorial facilities are
