Biltmore Internship | Biltmore Internship | 2016-04-26T04:00:00Z | 2016-12-31T05:00:00Z | <p>A part-time internship working during business hours, Monday
through Friday. The intern will work on a project to begin rehousing
approximately 9,000 archival photographs to prepare them for cold
storage. The internship will include basic training in object handling,
library and archive methods specific to the institution, and collections
software management systems. The intern will be exposed to all areas of
museum work, including curation, conservation, and collection

internship is flexible and will be based on finding the candidate with
the best qualifications. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an
accredited college or university as a graduate student in a library,
archives, or public history program. Undergraduate students will also
be considered. Preferred candidates will have knowledge of photograph
conservation and/or experience working with an archival photograph
collection. Additional requirements include proficiency in Microsoft
Office software applications, outstanding interpersonal and
communication skills, and the ability to be a team player in a dynamic,
fast-paced environment. Physical requirements include the ability to
lift up to 35 pounds occasionally. A minimum of 135 work hours is
required, and the position will be compensated with a $1,350.00 stipend.</p> | | | |
