Internship Opportunities with Active Photography Archive | Internship Opportunities with Active Photography Archive | 2016-06-02T04:00:00Z | 2016-12-31T05:00:00Z | <p>Grossman Enterprises is working with a dedicated team to manage,
digitize, preserve and promote the archival holdings of renowned
American photojournalist Henry Grossman. Two class-Âcredit unpaid
intern positions are available to provide students with the experience
of working alongside our digital technician and archive manager,
learning various aspects of collections management and digital
production.</p><p>Students interested in analog Âto Âdigital print production,
American history, museum studies, or library and archive science will
gain experience working with original photographic materials; be
introduced to cataloguing, transcribing, and research; and gain handsÂ
on experience with arrangement and description of vintage prints and
documents. As an active archive, interns will have the opportunity to
learn production skills including wide Âformat printing, drum scanning,
image editing, and other aspects of productive workflow. Applicants
should have an interest in archives, photojournalism, American history,
and late 20th century pop culture.</p><p>One or both of the internship positions will also have the
opportunity to assist with our current oral history project. Â We are
interviewing Mr. Grossman to capture contextual information, subject
identification, and illuminating stories about his experiences with
important and popular American icons that he photographed throughout his
fifty Âyear career. Â Interns will have the opportunity to direct their
own questions to the photographer, and are encouraged to research the
historical context for each discussion.</p><p>The internship will be 2Â3 days a week, from 10amÂ6pm, in Hamilton
Heights, Manhattan. Â Interested students should send a CV along with
