Cornell Costume and Textile Collection Manager | Cornell Costume and Textile Collection Manager | 2016-07-22T04:00:00Z | 2016-12-31T05:00:00Z | <p>Working under very general supervision, the CCTC Manager is
responsible for processing, inventory, and housing of the collection in
order to facilitate preservation, exhibition and access and to the
collection for research and teaching. In consultation with the CCTC
Director, will perform a full range of activities for complex materials,
and will appraise and select items for permanent retention on the basis
of documentary value. The manager oversees tasks assignments and time
collection for undergraduate and temporary CCTC assistants; oversees
CCTC volunteers; and assists graduate student Teaching and Research
Assistants needing to access the collection on behalf of university
faculty. The Manager will work closely with the CCTC director to ensure
the teaching, research, and exhibition mission of the collection is
upheld. The Manager may manage projects involving coordination of
multiple activities. </p><p>
This is a part time 20-35 hours per week position, 1 year term position with the possibility of renewal.</p><p>

</p><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><p>·Bachelor’s degree in Costume History, Museum Studies, or related field</p><p>·Minimum three years paid experience handling and
cataloguing costume and textile materials in a museum/library
settingExperience working in teams, as well as independently, and
meeting departmental goals</p><p>·Strong subject knowledge in costume history and preservation</p><p>·Knowledge of conservation issues and policies</p><p>·Experience with relevant technologies, including literacy in
commonly used computer applications, database experience, and excellent
