Conservator - Missouri State Archives | Conservator - Missouri State Archives | 2023-03-20T04:00:00Z | 2023-05-20T04:00:00Z | <p>​Definition:</p><p>Conservators work as a team in Missouri's only publicly funded conservation lab for treatment of historically significant paper records (primarily 19th and early 20th century). Staff provide treatments to the most significant documents in the State Archives collection as well as from state and local government offices. The primary work is in conservation treatment; occasional work in outreach (training and consultation) may be required. Conservators also monitor environmental conditions, pest management, and emergency response planning.</p><p>Job Functions and/or General Responsibilities:</p><ul style="box-sizing:border-box;margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:10px;color:#000000;font-family:arial, arial;font-size:13.333333015441895px;"><li><p>Perform ethical and safe conservation treatments abiding by the AIC's Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice and directions of supervisors.</p></li><li><p>Evaluate documents and carry out appropriate conservation treatments.</p></li><li><p>Perform necessary chemical and physical testing to determine treatment needs.</p></li><li><p>Develop condition reports and treatment documentation for work proposed and performed.
