Current Students

Topics being researched by current PSP students include the feasibility of  adapting polarity-sensitive fluorescent probes or dyes as “reporter” molecules  within artists’ painting materials, nineteenth-century domestic farm buildings  of the Mid-Atlantic region, the materials and techniques of Color Field painter  Morris Louis or Chinese export lacquer, new ways to trace the evolution from  egg- to oil-based paints in Quattrocento Italy, the preservation of religious  architecture in Southwest China, the interpretation and preservation of objects  of trauma, and the preservation of fossil bones in South America.
