Topics being researched by current PSP students include the reconstruction of cities in the USSR following World War II, the feasibility of adapting polarity-sensitive fluorescent probes or dyes as “reporter” molecules within artists’ painting materials, the assessment of a newly formulated removable protective coating for painted and architectural surfaces, nineteenth-century domestic farm buildings of the Mid-Atlantic region, and the materials and techniques of Abstract Expressionist painter Hans Hofmann and Color Field painter Morris Louis.
